Prisoners escape police custody

On Thursday we recieved media reports stating that dangerous criminals escaped while under police gaurd en route to court. This event has certainly opened up a can of worms and indicates that there are big problems in the SAPS. Worms are normally a good indicator of rot  and the consequence of  poor care. What's rotting?? Well the incident has raised more than a concern over the security at courts and prisons, in fact the Police Force management of the matter came under fire when they decided to arrest the gaurds for neglect and corruption. The orderlies were here over the long weekend without legal representation or councelling for the horrific escape. Now please understand that I am not suggesting for one moment that they are innocent of negligence or misconduct. I am merely using this situation to highlight the following problems in our Justice system. I'm am concerned about :
* the casual manner in which potentially dangerous criminals are dealt with , especially in our current environment where crime is out of control, they were not in shackles.
* Poor management in the SAPS, Workers are imprisoned without any evidence or investigation. What about constitutional rights?? Can I take it that the Directors have no idea on what policing entails.

Please read up the story on www.news24.co.za and let me know what concerns You.....

The Pro's and Cons of Technology

The advent of digital techology has brought about big changes to our society. It has improved our lifestyle by providing us with quicker and easier ways to perform our daily task at home, at work and socially. However, it has also come along with it's fair share of disadvantages. The moral implications of technology ,such as the ability for children to access immoral material from the net is a problem. I am caught on the fence with this regard and find myself tossed between traditional methods and our modern technological ones. Technology has made us more alert and aware of problems in our society. Technology has however also given us solutions to problems. How ever you look at it, it's difficult to judge. Help me by posting your views on the matter.

Burn a Qur'an day

"America - the most contradictory, the most depressing, the most stirring, of any land in the world today."

Sinclair Lewis's Nobel Lecture, December 12, 1930

America with all it's democracies and freedom will never cease to produce controversial characters who become famous globally for either their complete foolishness or wisdom. The fools were joined by Pastor Terry Jones recently when he decided to host a Burn the Koran Day in his church to mark the 9th anniversary of 9/11. Not only is Terry reckless but he also has no consideration for his fellow man. As a Christian he , being a Pastor should have acted with greater wisdom. He needs to understand that Islam is not responsible for 911. It was the work of misguided individuals. He has joined their ranks with this ubsurd stunt. Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all men is what Terrible Terry should be preaching. Please voice your opinions on this matter.

Strike Season

Unfortunately Strike Season has once again descended upon our land. It's frustrating that in our bid to earn a living wage, we have to sacrifice our pay, and the oppurtunities for learning for our learners. This seems to be the only way we can get our message across. This strike has once again awaken my thinking with regards to my convictions about striking. Personnally I wish that we dont ever have to strike, but seeing that it is our only option , how can we do it with maximum effect ? Firstly ,I feel that our current action only leaves the workers worst off as we lose money and come out of the strike with tags that imply that we dont care about education in our country. Then there's the strike violence and intimidation that only succeeds in developing bad relations between teachers. Below the clip of "Feel It IT IS WAR" I've included a photo of a strike in England. This causes me to wonder how they conduct their strikes. Is it effective ??? What we need is action that produces the neccessary results. Please help me figure out ways in which we can do that.
